Jakarta, IORA – Vice President Jusuf Kalla welcomed Australia Foreign Minister Julie Bishop in her courtesy visit to attend the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) Summit in Jakarta.
“My conversation with your Vice President was really constructive. We talk a lot about having more intensive economy and trade cooperation,” said Bishop after a meeting with the Vice President.
Foreign Minister Bishop said that bilateral trade between Indonesia and Australia had been working well. In fact, in the last 2016, it increased about 5% higher than the trade value in 2015 as much as USD 14.8 billions.
“We will intensify our cooperation through Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement,” she continued.
Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) started since 2010.
Beside the honorary visit to the Vice President of Indonesia Republic, Foreign Minister Bishop also came for a bilateral meeting with Indonesia Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi, Maritime Coordinating Minister Luhut Panjaitan and Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Wiranto.
Foreign Minister Bishop came to Jakarta to attend IORA Summit 2017 at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on Monday together with the related ministers from 21 member states and seven IORA observing countries. (Irvina Falah/Translator: AA)
